Stopped in to get my inspection sticker and have them check out the power steering and found this little guy on the lot. It looks good a cleaned up, but I'm missing it less and less thanks to the TL-S. I'm glad they left the Si grille on it. I gave them the original chrome piece, but I think painted looks better and standout more.
TL UPDATE: The noise turned out to be a pulley that's on it's way out. They're going to replace that and belt for me once the parts come in. Thanks lemon law warranty!
How many of you guys have run into your old cars in the wild after you've traded or sold them?

I sold my '95 Prelude to a local college kid in '04, I would see it around town every now and again for a few years.

I tend to hold on to cars until they die a horrible death. I have yet to find an old car.

So, how much did they mark it up for sale?

I ran into my old '62 Comet at a car show not long ago.
He'd added more extensive pin-striping, wide whitewalls & some other minor things, but it was largely as I sold it. I was a little depressed to discover that he'd bought it for $3900 off the guy I sold it to for $2000, and without all the extra parts I'd included.

I think I've run in to every car I've sold at some point or another.
The strangest was when I ran into my old 91 Prelude. It was slammed with green neon underneath and a giant tacky Jesus mural on the back window. I was thinking 'poor Prelude hopefully mine's being treated better'. Then I noticed the wheels were the same as I had on mine, then I noticed that they still had my 4 year old expired apartment sticker on the back bumper and I was kinda sad.

I sold my '91 S14 to my brother and every time I would visit it was in worse shape. It broke my heart to see it so beat up.

I have a Civic Si. And I'm not a college kid. I know a couple of other professionals at my company with Civics. So please take your trolling elsewhere. Like I said, grown ups are talking, and obviously that doesn't include you.

Civic Si's are not "grown up" cars, I'm sorry that you are trying to recapture your 17 year old youth in a tarted up economy car.

This is why I want to keep Blue until she dies if I can. If I ever sold it and saw it again, it would be actually pretty hard. That truck means too much to me.

I'm sorry your car has to be boring or have an expensive badge to be a good match for you. It handles like a dream and has the most amazing transmission I've ever driven. Are those things not important to you? If the look or brand means more to you, you may be in the wrong place.

civics are often to small for people with kids
accords are often to big for singles
Theres nothing wrong with having a daily beater, but they are nothing more than stamped out bland appliances, which for 85% of the motoring public is perfectly acceptable.

I only have one story, and it's sad.
I traded in a RSX-S when I bought my WRX new back in '06 (too lazy to sell it, and they gave me a pretty good deal).
Anyhow, about a year later I get a letter from the service department at the Acura dealership. "Oh, they just think I still have the car, and they sent me service coupons or something."
NOPE.
The dealer who I bought the Acura from got it back from the Suby dealer and sold it to another guy. He never bothered to register it (that's what they still had my address connected to it), and it was sitting in the service department after the dude blew the engine and the transmission, and refused to pay.
I know it wasn't mine to care about anymore, and I rarely get nostalgic for my old cars, but still...

Nice! My mom had a Comet for her first car. My grandfather held it until around 2001. He was going to restore it but never did, and got rid of it before I was old enough to have any money to try it myself.

I traded my Vauxhall Corsa GSI 16v for a new MINI Cooper when they came out... Holy moly that car was screwed. Rusty chassis, lumpy running, which combined with a few "choice" mods (read mostly stickers) from me meant I wanted as far away from it as possible.
I was surprised when it overtook me at speed on the M25 about 3 weeks later..! And slightly fearful.

I beg to differ. (I think I'm qualified since the stable has included over the years, two Volvo 245s, a Volvo 740 Turbo sedan, a 740 Turbo wagon, a FC RX-7, two B13 Sentras, a Volvo S60 and now consists of a Fiat 124 Spider and a 2013 Mazda3 hatch.)
Japanese cars can do soul and emotion well, if the Mazda3, FC and the B13 Sentras were any indication. Do they have as much soul as, let's say, my 245s or my Fiat Spider? That's arguable, but every single car I've owned was and is capable of making me cackle like a madman, grinning from ear-to-ear.
